Linux HA
Category: Projects

I've been working on the Linux HA (http://www.linux-ha.org/) project for several years now.

I originally looked at it when I did work for a now really crappy site that had been called www.tvnet.com . It is a "clustering" application (Non-Geek: Allows 2 computers to work together so that if the primary stops, the secondary takes over the resources like webserver, etc. without a major delay).

It was for Linux only at the time. I began the efforts to port (Non-Geek: Make it work) on FreeBSD (http://www.freebsd.org/) which is my favororite Free Operating System. So over the last few years I have done a lot of work on the project and I am now the "Non-Linux Release Engineer" for Linux HA. It now builds/runs on FreeBSD and Builds (but doesn't run :( ) on Solaris (x86 version AND Sparc).

Why do I do this, For Free ?

Because I'm a programmer. I like to program and I enjoy it (even though it IS what I do for work).
