Posted by Sir Geek on 04/04/2005 08:32AM Well.. A few days ago ( on April 1st), Callie and Tuxie turned an amazing 14 years old. Now, seeing them, you would never know they are 14 year old cats. Callie is still agile and fast ( since she is forever getting chased by Emeril ) while Tuxie, despite her health problems, is still Tuxie. She still gets into fights with our 7 year old Truffle cat, not to mention she slaps down the 16 pounder Inky. Tuxie als still insists on sitting on me while I try to do any type of work on the computer ( for example, she was on my lap when I started writing this blog entry). Its pretty amazing that according to this chart Callie and Tuxie are about 72 in human years. I want to be that agile in 34 years when I turn 72. [Link][2 comments]
Posted by Sir Geek on 04/04/2005 08:27AM I just spent a better part of the weekend cleaning our basement. Callie and I have been in the house for almost 12 years now and its amazing what sort of things accumulate. For example, I had my old metal tool box ( had it from before we were married ) that had been on the cellar floor ( and due to the water problems we've had, started to rust) so I had to toss it, I also had an old enlarger for doing photography that had rotted out and had to be tossed too. And the cellar STILL isn't clean. I'm going to have to spend the next few weeks getting it cleaned out so that I can get it organized to help get the stuff out of the rest of the house ( and also tossed in the trash as I go through it ). The original fireplace set that came with the house was still downstairs, but I finally tossed it out too. I still have an old light fixture, while it still works, I have no place to actually use it so I'm thinkint THAT will need to be tossed into the trash as well. It seems like the cleaning never ends.
